My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

(DOB 07/15/2022) Meet Diane a bundle of playful energy wrapped up in an adorable 35-40 lb package! Diane is dog-friendly and would absolutely love a home with a playful dog buddy and a fenced yard where she can romp around to her heart's content. She’s a true people lover who enjoys belly rubs and affection almost as much as she enjoys throwing her toys in the air and chasing them down like a pro! Rolling in the grass and soaking up the fresh air are some of her favorite pastimes; she does LOVE being outside. And if there's a game of chase going on with other pups, you can bet Diane will be right in the middle of the action!

Diane loves treats and dental chews and will all but sell her soul for some yummy snacks. As a smart and slightly mischievous girl, she’s always up for a new challenge, making her a perfect candidate for training to keep that clever mind of hers entertained. Diane is crate trained, potty trained, and does okay on a leash, though she needs some work. She’s an adorable short stack with a smile that stretches for days!

She can be a little nervous when meeting new dogs, but if introduced properly, she loves all of them. Because of her energy level a home with little tykes probably not a good fit but kids who want to play and run around in the fenced in back yard with her would be great. Though another dog isn't absolutely required for Diane, she would likely be happiest with a home with a fun and playful 4-legged friend. If not, her new family would need to be very committed to lots of daily activities to burn off her physical energy and use her active brain!

She can be a little mischevious and you can find her "hunting in the kitchen" if you don't keep a watchful eye on her she may be quick to try and grab a tasty nibble off the counter. Heck, if you are good cook, she's just trying to tell you how delicious your food is; nonetheless, a behavior we are working with Diane on.

If you adore adorable Diane as much as we do, get your application in quickly!

As part of Diane’s $300 adoption fee, she will be spayed, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet little girl, you can email  Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Diane, you can fill in an online application for her under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

1. Review the description of the pet you are interested in to make sure that the information we have fits with your particular needs and desires. In most cases, the information on the website is current and gives the information that we have about the particular pet. The picture of the pet does not tell the whole story.

2. Complete the adoption application at https://pawsforlifenc.org. Please make sure that you give us as much information about yourself as you can. List all animals currently living with you including other dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, and rodents. The application needs to be complete in order to help us determine if the pet you have chosen is a good match for your home.

3. Once the application is submitted we will contact you, your references, and your vet.

4. We require a home visit prior to dog adoptions.

5. If more than one person applies, we will go with the BEST fit. If all things are equal, we go in the order the applications were received.

6. Once the home visit has been completed, you will be asked to complete an adoption agreement.

7. The adoption fee is $325 for dogs under 6 months, $300 for 6 months and older. The adoption fee is $125 for kittens under 1 year ($225 for 2 kittens), $85 for cats 1 year and older. This fee helps us to provide the necessary medical care and other needs for the pets while in foster care.

8. All Paws For Life NC pets are spayed or neutered if old enough, current on shots, micro chipped, and to our knowledge, in good health before they are adopted out. Puppies under 6 months of age will require a $100 refundable spay/neuter deposit in addition to the adoption fee and a special puppy spay/neuter agreement. Kittens under 6 months will require a $50 refundable spay/neuter deposit in addition to the adoption fee. We are all volunteers and receive no monetary compensation for our work with the pets. The adoption fee is used to help defray costs in the rescue and care of the pets.

9. Congratulations! You are on your way to having your new companion. We hope that you and your new companion share a life of love and happiness. We welcome any comments you may wish to give us about your pet at any time.
