My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

(DOB 07/15/2021) Fawn absolutely adores cats and would love some kitty siblings to cozy up to plus, she is looking for a home with a confident dog who can help guide her and help her build her confidence. So if you have a house full, Fawn could be a great addition. She is a little shy with strangers at first, but once she warms up to you, her sweet and loving side shines through!

One of Fawn’s favorite things is being outside, whether she's going for walks or just soaking up the sunshine. Fawn enjoys spending time playing and sniffing in the backyard, but she will test the fence so she should not be left unsupervised. If her home has a fence it should be solid or very slender slats. She can be an escape artist so her safety is #1 priority.

Fawn is a smart girl and will happily show off her skills by shaking, sitting, and staying on command! She’s ready to learn new tricks if her family is ready to teach them to her! A favorite toy could be one of her rewards because she’s also a fan of soft, squeaky toys!

Fawn loves kids too! A quiet home that is also active would be ideal for her. She is up for a hike but is also down to snuggle and watch Netflix with you! She isn't destructive and doesn't require crating, but she's comfortable being crated if needed. Fawn also absolutely loves to sleep in bed with her family, where she can snuggle up and feel safe. Fawn is sensitive and needs some extra reassurance and snuggles during thunderstorms.

Maybe in addition to Chi-Cattle Dog we think she may also have some Whippet mixed in.  She weighs about 27 pounds. Whatever she is, she is cute and adorable and ready to make a family very happy with her addition! Aren't you ready to meet her?

As part of Fawn’s $300 adoption fee, she will be spayed, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet little girl, you can email  Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Fawn, you can fill in an online application for her under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

1. Review the description of the pet you are interested in to make sure that the information we have fits with your particular needs and desires. In most cases, the information on the website is current and gives the information that we have about the particular pet. The picture of the pet does not tell the whole story.

2. Complete the adoption application at https://pawsforlifenc.org. Please make sure that you give us as much information about yourself as you can. List all animals currently living with you including other dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, and rodents. The application needs to be complete in order to help us determine if the pet you have chosen is a good match for your home.

3. Once the application is submitted we will contact you, your references, and your vet.

4. We require a home visit prior to dog adoptions.

5. If more than one person applies, we will go with the BEST fit. If all things are equal, we go in the order the applications were received.

6. Once the home visit has been completed, you will be asked to complete an adoption agreement.

7. The adoption fee is $325 for dogs under 6 months, $300 for 6 months and older. The adoption fee is $125 for kittens under 1 year ($225 for 2 kittens), $85 for cats 1 year and older. This fee helps us to provide the necessary medical care and other needs for the pets while in foster care.

8. All Paws For Life NC pets are spayed or neutered if old enough, current on shots, micro chipped, and to our knowledge, in good health before they are adopted out. Puppies under 6 months of age will require a $100 refundable spay/neuter deposit in addition to the adoption fee and a special puppy spay/neuter agreement. Kittens under 6 months will require a $50 refundable spay/neuter deposit in addition to the adoption fee. We are all volunteers and receive no monetary compensation for our work with the pets. The adoption fee is used to help defray costs in the rescue and care of the pets.

9. Congratulations! You are on your way to having your new companion. We hope that you and your new companion share a life of love and happiness. We welcome any comments you may wish to give us about your pet at any time.
