Meet Avalon!
Sweet Avalon's owner passed away and she is looking for a new home. Her best friend and long-time companion Cozmo would love to stay with her but finding homes for bonded pairs can be difficult.
Avalon is quirky but sweet. She loves to be with her people. She has two speeds: runs/walks quickly wherever she goes or asleep. She will sit quietly in your lap or snuggle next to you at night. She enjoys walks and loves to snuggle and get attention from her people but also is content to nap alone on the couch. She absolutely loves to run outside off leash and to roll around in the grass.
Avalon has some odd quirks like her attempts to engage other dogs in play and can come across as a bit forward, almost like a lack of good social skills.
She does not like her legs brushed and can growl or nip if you try, however she is fine with grooming her body and head (in fact I think she loves the attention). When on a leash she can be reactive towards other dogs but this is manageable and can be worked on. It seems to only be an issue when she is restrained.
She has acted similarly with children when on leash, but we have not seen her with kids when off leash. We do not know how she is with cats. She barks a lot when people come to the door, but it is due to excitement and is not aggressive.
Avalon is a sweetheart! She is a good companion, who likes to follow you around the house or snuggle up next to you or sit on your lap. She is housetrained and will let you know if she needs to go out for a potty break by either staring at you or by giving quick little yips by the door. She will quietly wait for you to put on her leash and even sit if asked. She is affectionate and sweet to the people she knows.
Avalon will be vaccinated and chipped prior to adoption. Her adoption fee is $450. You can submit an application via our website savinggreatanimals.org
We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495. Thank you for stepping up to save a life!
To expedite to meet with this dog, please go to our site at www.savinggreatanimals.org and fill out an application. We look at the first applications to arrive, so we hope to hear from you soon!
