My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Cocoa is ready to find her forever home!! She is thriving in foster care but would be the perfect little girl in her own home. Cocoa is approx 18 months old. She weighs 48 lbs and will probably not grow anymore. Cocoa's foster mommy says she is the sweetest thing and is so calm and gentle. She will come up to her for all kinds of hugs and kisses.

Cocoa is a great size as she is petite and just the right size to be the lap dog she so wishes to be. She loves to run and play and gets along great with other dogs. Having a fenced-in backyard would be ideal for Cocoa so she can stretch her legs and run freely off-leash. One thing about Cocoa you must know is she can jump/climb a fence that is 5ft tall. We think before she came into rescue, she may have been in a kennel for long periods and the only way she knew to get loose was to climb. It is not her fault, but having her on a leash for walks, runs, jogs, etc. is ideal for this athletic girl. Taking her to the local doggie park would be a great adventure for Cocoa as she would probably be a hit with all the other dogs.

Cocoa is learning to walk on a leash and did well the other day at the vet's office. She is somewhat unsure of her surroundings until she is comfortable and knows that she is safe. She is learning her doggie manners and is crate-trained. She is very smart and has already learned to sit for treats.
She would love to be a jogging, walking, or hiking buddy to her human. Cocoa is ready to travel now! What a great time it is to adopt this sweet girl as she can imagine having a big red bow on her collar just in time for Santa to see. Go ahead and apply for her!!

Cocoa is spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. All dogs 6 month + receive a Proheart 6 injection at the time of their heartworm test. This provides heartworm prevention for 6 months from the time of that injection. This dog has tested negative for heartworms. The adoption fee is $500 which includes spay/neuter, up to date vaccinations, flea/tick and heartworm preventatives, and the mandatory CT HB 5368 fee. This dog tested negative for heartworms.

Visit our website to see our weekend Events here! Pups with the designated “meet me” next to their names are in CT and ready to attend adoption events. Please check with your adoption coordinator if you are interested in a specific dog prior to coming to an event, as a dog's availability to attend can change at any time. We can not guarantee approval on site at the events, so we recommend applying ahead of time. You can apply at the event, but the application process may not be able to be completed the same day. If you are not pre-approved, you are still welcome to come and meet pup’s at the event!

If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at our Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05.

TO APPLY PLEASE GO TO www.cprdogs.com. If your application was successfully submitted you will get a confirmation. Please DO NOT USE the ADOPTAPET "CONTACT THIS RESCUE GROUP" form below or you may not hear from us as these often end up in spam or bouncing back.

After receipt of your application, an adoption counselor will then be in touch to answer your questions about this pup, discuss the adoption process and get the ball rolling! If you have not heard from one of our volunteers within 5 days of submitting your application, please email mollibo@gmail.com.

More about this rescue

CPR was formed in 2004 to assist unwanted pups and dogs with finding a new home. We rescue our pups from high kill shelters in TN and MS. Without the dedication of the staff and volunteers of these shelters and without the assistance of CPR, the pups posted on our website would not be rescued.
We also assist families with unwanted litters of pups by placing the pups and spaying their mommy dog to stop the cycle of unwanted puppies. When funds are available, we spay/neuter personally owned pets when asked for assistnce.
We rescue and rehome 200+ pups and dogs each month. We accomplish this task with the help of an awesome hard working and dedicated staff and volunteer base. Also helping us to accomplish what seems at times to be a thankless and overwhelming job is our pure and selfless love of dogs! We truly believe that rescue + rehoming = true love. <3
