Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Jet is the most wonderful, calm, and loving 7 yo boy. Likely a lab/pointer combination, this adorable, leggy boy is right around 40 pounds. His favorite activities? Sleeping and being with his people. He wants nothing more than to please his humans and make them happy, and he willingly takes cues from his foster sister, Faye, on what to do and how to act. He loves his beds, his crate, getting treats, lounging outside, and sleeping. He is scared of thunder storms, but if you put him in his crate, give him a treat, and close the door, he does ok! He sleeps all night in his crate, and has determined that the crate is the best because that is where he gets his treats and his food! He will even put himself in his crate if he feels himself getting too excited, which is adorable. Jett loves his fenced yard and having another chill/calm dog in the house, and would do best with a friend of similar temperament. He loves people, kids included, but prefers a calm household. He likes other dogs one-on-one, but is scared at the dog park. He knows come, down, crate, and out. He is house trained, but he does go out ever few hours to reinforce that, and he tries very hard to tell you when he has to go out (his foster sister is explaining to him that the best way is to nudge the humans, whine, or otherwise walk around a lot and then go to the door). He’s happy to share his toys and isn’t food protective.
He really is the best. He just wants a calm, understanding family who he can attach himself to, follow around, get pets from, and sleep next to. Given his past and being abandoned, he does best with calm tones (no yelling), and positive reinforcement/praise. Oh, and he’s very polite on the leash! Even walks well next to a stroller! He also tippy-taps when he’s happy / excited
