My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Sarge is a stunning young gentleman with a heart as big as his fluffy white coat! This young Great Pyrenees charmer came to us as a stray, a little on the lean side, but he's already filling out nicely with some TLC and good meals. His beautiful long white fur is accented with light tan badger markings, giving him a distinguished look that matches his gentle brown eyes. Don't let his size fool you - Sarge takes treats with the softest touch, showing his innate politeness, and already knows how to sit and is eager to learn more. Sarge is a natural companion, confidently strutting his stuff on walks and riding like a pro in the car. He's the perfect mix of easy-going and adventurous!  Sarge adapts well to new situations. On a recent park outing, he showed his cool demeanor by completely ignoring the local duck population - clearly not his cup of tea! When it comes to other dogs, Sarge's tail starts wagging with excitement. While he hasn't been formally introduced to furry friends yet, his happy reactions suggest he'd be a fantastic playmate for other pups. This handsome boy has a zest for life that's absolutely contagious. Whether he's exploring on a walk or lounging at home, Sarge approaches everything with a joyful, easygoing attitude. He's always up for attention, and if you're offering pets or brushing, prepare to be fixed with those soulful brown eyes begging for "just a little more!" Sarge would thrive in a home where he can be part of the family action. A fenced yard would be his dream come true, giving him space to stretch those long legs and keep an eye on his domain. While he hasn't met any yet, we think he'd do well with respectful children who can match his gentle nature. And if you have another dog at home? Even better! Sarge would love a canine buddy to share adventures with. This sweet boy is ready to bring his loving spirit and goofy antics into your life. If you're looking for a gentle giant with a heart of gold, Sarge might just be your perfect match. Apply today to meet this charming fellow and see if he's the one to complete your family!

Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority.

We may consider fostering for some of our dogs who are in boarding. Please visit Fostering FAQfor an application and information about our fostering program.

If you can't foster or adopt at this time, please consider helping our Neediest Cases or making a tax-exempt donation by visiting our Donate page.
