Here's what the humans have to say about me:
If you have a favorite muppet, you'll probably be changing allegiance when you meet THIS Muppet. And nobody would blame you.
Muppet is an eight-year-old, cream colored miniature poodle, with a smile that can't be ignored. He's been rescued, he knows he got a good deal, and he shows it. To quote his foster mom, "He acts like a puppy with a second lease on life, even though he is a mature gentleman."
Extremely playful, he loves toys and chasing balls, especially tennis balls, which he relishes demolishing. But his mature side shines through nicely when he goes to work with his foster. and shows his manners when meeting strange adults or kids. Though affection and cuddling are major priorities in his life, he's not pushy, and will lie quietly at her feet ALL DAY without demanding pets, barking, or being disruptive.
To quote his foster again, "Hands down, Muppet's favorite thing to do is be with his human. He is a deeply devoted dog who wants nothing more than to be someone's special someone."
He gets along well with his foster's children, who are 8 and 10, snuggling and romping with them. Because he can be a bit possessive when he's in Mom's lap, however, this age, rather than small children, would do best with him.
Though fairly indifferent to cats, Muppet is very protective of his pack of small dogs when around any other canines. He doesn't trust large dogs, and since he's fearless in expressing this, a home with only small dogs would be ideal for this little gladiator.
Muppet walks well on a leash, though he likes to bark at other dogs he passes, just to let them know he's in charge. He will sleep in his crate, though Mom likes him in her bed. He's still working on house training, but once he's familiar with an environment, his manners improve dramatically. This little man was very thin and had been neglected for some time when he was rescued, so food is precious to him. Eating in his crate eliminates the fear that he must protect his meals from others..
Muppet has been through a lot, yet has come through with a loving, joyful spirit, and an overwhelming desire to please those who care about him. He would thrive in a home where someone had lots of time to give him, especially if there were one or more small dogs to keep him company. Older children who love to cuddle and play but were mature enough to understand him would also be a boon. Especially after coming off the street, Muppet is sensitive, and lots of POSITIVE reinforcement will make him flourish as he continues to work on being the best boy ever. He desperately wants to be someone's best friend.
If you have the heart and the patience to keep that beautiful smile on Muppet's face, he will surely put one on your own. Come see how truly special he is.
