My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Attention Outdoor Enthusiasts; are you looking for running, hiking, and camping companion?!

Meet Jackson, a lovable Blue Heeler/ Border Collie mix with a heart full of affection and a playful spirit. Jackson is a charming, chubby boy who is both leash and house trained, making him a wonderful companion. His previous owner adored him deeply but had to surrender him due to unforeseen circumstances-this was no fault of Jackson's.

Jackson is a bundle of energy who thrives on human interaction and cuddles. He is highly treat-motivated, which is great for his training but not so great for his waistline. He would benefit from an experienced, active owner who can help him shed those extra pounds and channel his inner working dog. Jackson needs an active lifestyle that can provide him with plenty of adventures, physical exercise, and mental stimulation to keep him engaged and happy.

Jackson can be dog selective; matching the dog's energy on the other end. He would do well with another neutral, well mannered dog, however, he would be best suited as the only animal in the home. Jackson is incredibly loving towards people and enjoys being the center of your attention.

If you're a breed-experienced guardian ready to it the trails, Jackson could be the perfect fit for you. Apply online today or come to meet him at our West Vancouver shelter from 12pm to 3pm, Tuesday-Sunday!

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
