My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Beecher may be shy at first, but once she warms up, she becomes a sweet and affectionate companion. During the day, you'll find her lounging by the window, enjoying some quiet time. However, her true personality shines at night when she becomes playful and seeks out attention. Beecher loves playing with balls, string, and anything else she can get her paws on, making the evenings a fun time to bond with her!

Though she can be timid, Beecher adores having her face rubbed and being pet, especially after dark when she becomes more social. She's an absolute mush ball and will happily let you pick her up and hold her in any position, offering her light, soothing purrs to brighten your day.

Beecher is calm, playful, affectionate, timid, and quiet, making her the perfect fit for a quiet home or one with an average level of activity. She would thrive in an adult-only home, a family with older children, or a single person's home. Whether she lives with other pets or not, Beecher will bring warmth and joy to any home she joins.

More about this rescue

Paws and Claws Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in the Chicagoland area dedicated to preventing, and alleviating the suffering caused by abuse, neglect, and overpopulation. We help dogs and cats mentally and physically heal, and give them a chance to find love, a full life, and a forever home.

Our focus is on rescuing orphaned neonatal kittens, nursing kittens with their feral mothers, under-socialized cats, and dogs who have been at Chicago Animal Care and Control for too long. We see ourselves as the crossing guards for these vulnerable animals, helping them get from their past, whether that be from a traumatic home, a kennel, or a euthanasia list, to a safe and kind human who will love them.
