My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

*** AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION, FOSTER, or FOSTER TO ADOPT ***

Meet Chai! She is currently enrolled in our P.A.C.K. Program, a 9-week intensive program for routine obedience, agility, and handling training with a prison inmate trainer and she is almost ready to show off her new skills! Her new abilities include 'sit', 'down', 'shake' and more! New adopters should realize that PACK Program graduates will require regular, ongoing reinforcement of learned behaviors in order for them to become permanent.

Chai is deaf, but she does not let it slow her down at all! She has learned many hand signs paired with her commands. Treats help her learn and adapt as well. Her handler describes her as a bundle of joy and excitement when you start your day. Chai likes to play with other dogs, and does a good job mimicing their play style. She has done well sharing toys and water dishes with other dogs.

She is kennel trained as well as house trained. Before she went to PACK, she was in a foster home with cats and did fine around them.

We don't have any history of Chai and kids. Because she is deaf, they may frighten her when they approach her from behind. This is something to consider, and older kids may be a better fit.

Chai is still young but shows quite a bit of maturity. She knows when to take a break in playing and when to relax. She will graduate towards the beginning of October. Forget the Pumpkin Spice & apply for Chai today.
