My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Meet Happy!

Happy is a resilient and loving 1 year old dog who’s overcome a lot, and now she’s ready to find her forever home. After being hit by a car, Happy had to undergo surgery to try and save her leg. Unfortunately, despite our best efforts with plates and screws, her leg had to be amputated. But don’t let that fool you—Happy is a true warrior!

What makes Happy special?

Three-legged dogs are nothing short of remarkable, and Happy is no exception. She walks, runs, and plays just like any other dog, determined to live life to the fullest. Her sweet personality shines through, and you can see in his eyes that he's ready to love and be loved in return. She's healed beautifully and is walking fine, eager to bring joy to a new family.

Happy is currently with the vets, but she’s fully recovered and ready to go to his forever home. If you’re looking for a courageous, sweet dog who will warm your heart every day, Happy is the one. She’s a true testament to the resilience and determination of animals.

Give Happy a chance, and you’ll gain a loyal friend for life.  Fill out an application if you are interested in meeting her.

Additional adoption info

Please read ALL the information below before completing the application. The ENTIRE application must be completed in order to be considered. Incomplete applications WILL NOT be reviewed or accepted.

The following guidelines have been established to speed up the adoption process.

To submit an application you need to either request one by email or obtain one you can fill out online at www.surryanimalrescue.org. It is essential that we have a name AND phone# of your Veterinarian that can verify that your current and/or past pets meet our policy requirements that are listed below.

In order to be considered to adopt one of our animals in our program; it is the policy of Surry Animal Rescue that your dogs are spayed or neutered and current on all vaccines including rabies, parvo, distemper, and are on a heartworm preventative. As well as your cats need to be spayed or neutered and current on all vaccines including rabies, distemper, feline leukemia, and feline aides test. We do REQUIRE fenced in yards for certain dogs in our program. That information is posted in the rescues' profile. All of our cats are to be kept indoors.

Finally, please include all questions and comments at the end of the application. A volunteer will contact you after they have reviewed your application. Please remember that we are a volunteer organization, so most of our volunteers have full time jobs, families, etc. and use their free time to check the emails and get your application. If you haven't heard from us within 4 days, please contact us through email surryanimalrescue@hotmail.com. We appreciate your patience.
