Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Bongo!
A playful young Labrador Retriever from Temecula, CA, whose energy and zest for life shine through her stunning chocolate brown coat and soulful eyes. At almost two years old, Bongo is an active and enthusiastic companion, ready to make every day an adventure. Weighing in at about sixty pounds, she’s a medium-sized bundle of energy with a big personality to match!
Bongo is an exuberant girl who thrives on action and interaction. Whether she’s eagerly chewing on her favorite toys or playfully jumping around, she’s always on the go, making her perfect for an active family. A household with a large yard where she can stretch her legs, run, and play would be a dream for this high-energy dog. While Bongo has been living primarily outdoors and sleeps in her crate in the house at night, she’s eager to learn the ins and outs of indoor living. She’s crate trained, but she will need some guidance on housebreaking and mastering the leash—after all, she's still learning her manners!
Speaking of manners, Bongo’s spirited personality means she can get a little carried away with excitement. She tends to jump and nip when she's really happy, so she’ll need a guardian willing to commit to consistent training and positive reinforcement. She’s already had some formal obedience training, but with a bit more attention, Bongo could blossom into a well-behaved and loyal family member.
Bongo’s energy might be too much for very small children, but in a home with older kids or active adults who understand her playful nature, she’ll thrive. She’s been around another dog, so we know she’s good with canine companions, but her interactions with other pets are still to be explored.
If you’re someone who loves an active lifestyle and is excited about continuing Bongo’s training journey, she could be your perfect match. Contact us at adopt@joyfulpets.com to meet Bongo and start your next adventure together!
