Say hello to Trey, the triPAWd! Trey is a very special kitten, approximately eight-months-old. He was found by one of our volunteers, when he turned up on her porch a few days in a row. He finally allowed handling, and was brought inside, where it was discovered he wasn't bearing weight on his back leg and the leg was swollen. We immediately took Trey to the vet and posted for his owners (none were found). It turns out Trey had a broken femur, and our vet determined amputation would be the most successful route for Trey, long-term. Trey had surgery and has been recovering in a foster home. He gets around great with just three (or "trey") legs, and is a normal and adorable kitten. Trey enjoys cat naps in windows, playing with toys, and chasing laser pen lights. He is friendly with people, enjoys pets, and can be picked up and handled without difficulty (although he doesn't enjoy being held for too long). Trey is social with his fellow felines in his foster home, but although HE wants to play, they aren't so sure. He is happy to be in the same room with them or lay on the bed together. Trey did have fun playing with another foster kitten at one point, and may like to play with your cat at home too. Does Trey sound like the special feline friend you've been looking for? Send us an email at chitownrescue@gmail.com for more info/meet and greet appointment! Trey's adoption fee includes prior vet care/surgery, vaccinations up to date, microchip, and neuter surgery.
