The adoption fees are as follows:
$225.00 for dogs up to 50 pounds, $250 for dogs 51-100 pounds, and $275 for dogs 101-150 pounds. Cats a year and up are $90 and Kittens under a year are $120. This includes spay/neuter (to be performed before pet leaves shelter), all age appropriate vaccines, microchipping and heartworm/tick borne disease testing if old enough.
We work with rescue groups! Documentation required includes:
1- Official Rescue Name, Phone, and Physical Address
2- Names and contact information for members of the Board of Directors
3- 501c3 Tax Exempt Status
4- Vet Reference(s)
5- Statement signed by a group representative and on the rescue's letterhead stating that to the best of your knowledge no one affiliated with your group (i.e. your foster homes, board members, operators, etc) has been convicted of animal cruelty neglect or abandonment. (This statement is now required (as of July 1, 2003) due to SB 895 and 950.)
6. Verification (if out of state) that your group will report receiving the animal to the VA State Ag. Dept.

Augusta Regional S.P.C.A. is a cooperative effort between the cities of Staunton, Waynesboro, and the county of Augusta, VA, and private citizens to provide protection and shelter for animals in need.
Our mission statement is as follows:
* The prevention of animal cruelty
* The relief of suffering among animals
