My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Mr Biggie Wiggie (as his foster calls him). Bigglesworth was rescued from a home with 150+ cats. He came from an unlivable situation which did leave him with some trauma. Since being with his foster, Biggie has blossomed into a very chatty and confident distinguished gentleman (as can be seen from his pictures). Even though he had a rough start in life he has no destructive habits and uses the litter box like a champ, he does prefer horizontal scratchers to vertical scratchers.

Bigglesworth would love a home with a cat buddy (he does look to them to determine if a scary situation is safe), and he gets along well with his foster sister, although the love is coming more from his side than hers, bless him. He is sometimes greeted with a hiss or a growl but has never retaliated and sits down dejectedly with sad eyes.

Bigglesworth loves being underfoot, especially when you are trying to walk, and weaves and bobs through your legs like an Olympic gymnast. He loves to be petted, but we are still working on being picked up. He comes running when called with a gentle purr sound; however, his favorite sound remains the crisp crack of fresh can of wet cat food.

He is very inquisitive and likes to watch you work around the home, and his foster then calls him Senor Jefe, his favorite is to supervise vacuuming. He gets startled by sudden loud sounds, but quickly relaxes if you call him with a soft purr to let him know in cat speak that he can come out and that it is safe. He is getting better with loud sounds.

Bigglesworth loves looking out the window so window perch will be appreciated, and he has recently learned how to climb a cat tree.

He is starting to like being brushed, but only if you let him sniff the brush before grooming commences. He loves to play whether it be by himself or with his foster and his favorite toy is the kong chirpy bird.

In his new home, Bigglesworth will need time to adjust, but once he realizes he's safe, he quickly assumes the role of king in the castle. He will do well in a relaxed home with older children. He has yet to meet a dog.For more information or to apply to adopt, please go to: https://www.purrpartners.org/adopt/

More about this rescue

Purr Partners Feline Rescue is a 501(c)(3), no-kill, foster-based, all-volunteer organization dedicated to saving the lives of cats and kittens in Central North Carolina — incorporated in 2009 by two friends, four cats, and no budget. These two women realized the need for a "cat only" rescue that worked with rural shelters — where cats routinely lose their lives. Purr Partners was founded to save the lives of those most in jeopardy with little hope of survival. High-kill rural shelters became the focus for Purr Partners, and that is still true today. From those humble beginnings, the rescue has grown to over a hundred active volunteers and a budget of approximately $175,000. At any given time there are between 100 and 150 cats and kittens in foster care. We have saved the lives of over 3500 cats and are still growing!
