Meet Alyster! Alyster started off as a very scared boy, spending his first week hiding under my son’s bed, making it tough to get pictures or really get to know him. But once he started to feel safe, his sweet personality began to shine.
Alyster LOVES snuggles, attention, and being brushed. He’s especially fond of my older kids (ages 8 and 10) when they come to cuddle with him. However, he’s not a fan of loud noises or too much commotion. At first, he was afraid of our big dog, but once he realized the dog wasn’t interested in him, he grew braver and now just ignores him. He’s still figuring things out with our resident cat, but it’s clear that Alyster will be submissive if there’s another dominant cat in the house.
I think Alyster would thrive in a calm home, either as the only pet or with other animals who will give him space. He’ll need some time to adjust, as he can be quite scared at first, but once he feels secure, he’s incredibly affectionate and will seek out snuggles—on his own terms, of course, like any true cat!
He’s a big boy who adores chin and ear scratches and will nudge you if you’re falling behind on your petting duties. After the first week, he settled in, started eating and drinking normally, and has been perfectly litter box trained with no accidents. He’s also quite the conversationalist during car rides, especially on trips to the vet!
Alyster is from an owner surrender.. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract.
