My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

* Injured right front leg removed and healed. GENTLE, PLAYFUL, TIMID BOY NEEDS FAIRLY CALM AND QUIET HOME. NO TODDLERS, LIKES GENTLE OLDER KIDS. PREFERS EXPERIENCED CAT PEOPLE TO LOVINGLY HELP BUILD HIS CONFIDENCE AS HE IMPROVES MANEUVERING ON 3 LEGS. GREAT WITH OTHER CAT BUDDIES. NO DOGS. I'm a very soft, dapper and handsome young fellow with the sweetest personality! I get along wonderfully with other nice cats almost right away, and would love to have one as a best buddy at home! They don't know how my leg was injured, but it may be why I'm cautious with people. I'm fairly hand shy until I trust you some. I'm eager to find people to love me though, so I welcome you to sit with me and try! DON'T TOUCH MY FEET OR TUMMY PLEASE! If I'm uncomfortable being pet at first, just talk to me, or grab a wand toy and play with me, then try petting again. I DO enjoy soft neck scratches, chin scratches and cheek rubs! You can see it in my eyes and my face that I love your company, even if we're just having a little conversation time. Through my whole ordeal I've never been mean, but as a kid, it's been a little scary being here and going through this. They've been really nice about helping me adjust. I love laying on blankets and I'm happy as can be in cushy beds, my favorite bed has legs to sit up off the floor. I can jump around just about anywhere I want to go now, but I'm still learning. I just remembered I like to climb to sit up high! I'll be ready to have a cat tree real soon! You'll probably find me getting up on the furniture to take a nap. I like having little toys to play with, that IS something I can do! I also love playing with you and our wand toys! Besides being so much fun, it's great exercise and it's helping me learn to be more coordinated! I love my wet and dry food, also getting a few treats everyday or as a reward! Before long, I will trust you to pick me up sometimes and help me get used to being cuddled a lot. We will have to practice that a little at a time. I'm just starting to let certain friends here hold me a little. If you will help and believe in me now, you will be my hero and I will love you to the moon and back!

More about this shelter

The Colony Animal Services strives to protect andTCAS LOGO-UPDATED nurture The City of The Colony’s lost, homeless, abused, injured, and sick pets. We seek to provide animals the opportunity to be reclaimed, adopted, rehabilitated, or rescued. It is the mission for the Animal Service Officers and volunteers to pursue a positive synergy and to serve the citizens and pets of The Colony.

Animal Services is committed to saving each and every animal that comes into our care. Over the last few years, we have improved our live release rate to 97%. We hold our standards high at keeping this percentage, and in doing so, we ask our rescue partners and citizens to help us pursue finding our animals forever homes.

Every year, we get over a hundred injured and sick animals that need our help. In order for us to help them, we use our donated medical fund to give them the proper care and treatment they need. The only way for us to provide this needed medical care is through our generous financial donors. Every penny donated is sent to our medical fund. Please help us continue this much needed medical care for our animals by donating. Even if you cannot donate, it is a huge help to share posts on social media.
