My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Tucker is a handsome and fit male German Shepherd that came to Murci's Mission from our partners at SCRAPS. He has an estimated birthdate of 09/05/2023.

Tucker is a young male power breed dog with minimal life experience, and as such, he has endless potential to be as good or as bad as any adopter allows him to be. Provide him structure and clarity and he will rise to the occasion and be an excellent companion for life. Let him have unlimited freedom and no guidance, and he will be your new nightmare. You choose the path with the effort you put in.

Tucker has very good social skills with other dogs, including other males, small breeds, and he is affectionate to people. He would be fine with kids who can take a little bumping around while he continues to develope bodily awareness. He has prey drive and is not suitable for a home with cats or small and furry pets.

Tucker would love a family who includes him in day to day life, enjoys teaching him new tricks and games, and generally wants him to be around. He would be a great adventure buddy, and he's wonderful in the car. His leash manners are ok and will be easy to develope further. He knows basic commands.

Tucker comes neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and dewormed. His adoption fee is $200 and includes his leash, collar, ID tag, food sample, and medical records. To be considered to adopt, please begin by visiting www.murcismission.org and sending in an application.

Adopters in the Spokane area can expect to meet the pet during the homecheck. Others will arrange a meet and greet.

Once your application has been received, we will evaluate it as a potential match for the given animal and, if your application is selected, we will proceed to call your references and then conclude with a home check and meet and greet scheduled by you at your home. For applicants out of area, the home check may be conducted via video call before the meet and greet.

More about this rescue

From the day we could talk we told our pets more than we ever told our parents. We took the long route to see the kitty in the window down the street. We stopped even when we were late to pet the dog. We grew up and we saw what the world does to those who can't defend themselves. We are here to change that.

Ethical rescue, including fully vetting every animal and carefully placing them all into homes matched to their physical and mental needs is what we do.

Respecting all life, both animal and human, while retaining an underlying goal of keeping animals in their homes. and fostering a sense of community between local shelters and rescues is how we do it.
