My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

All adoption fees are 50% off Friday 9/6 through Saturday 9/7 as part of the Clear the Shelters event! We are doing in person adoptions ONLY these days. Please do not complete an online application. We are open from 12:30-3 and anticipate large crowds for the event.

Meet Nova, a sweet and playful 1-year-old pit bull who's ready to find her new family! Nova is house trained and knows how to 'sit' like a pro. Her favorite activity? Chasing after a ball-she could play fetch all day!

Nova's previous owner said she did well with kids, but her history with cats is unknown. She's a little nervous around some dogs, so she'll need to meet any potential dog friends first. Nova does resource guard food and chews from other dogs, so if there are pets in the home, she'll need to be fed separately.

If you're looking for an energetic and affectionate dog who loves to play, Nova could be the one for you!

If you're ready to adopt within the next 24-48 hours and want to learn more about, meet, or adopt this pet, you can start the process in one of two ways:

Come in during open adoption hours Tuesday - Saturday 12:30p-3:00p. For in-shelter pets (not in foster care) coming in ASAP is the fastest way to adopt! **OR**
Click on the pink "Adopt me" button to submit an adoption inquiry. Watch your email for a response from us! Adopting through this process will take several days and highly desirable pets are likely to no longer be available.

PLEASE NOTE: Adoption inquiries are not holds or reservations. Pets are adopted by the first person we talk with who is a good match for the pet's needs. Multiple inquiries are accepted for each pet.

All adult dog adoption fees include;
-spay/neuter
-rabies and kennel cough vaccinations
-current parvo/distemper vaccines (may need additional boosters with your veterinarian)
-microchip implanted & registered to adopter
-treatment of fleas & ticks
-veterinary exam and health certificate at Dakin
-free vet exam within 30 days of adoption with participating veterinarians
Most pets have also received other medical care while with us. Your veterinarian may recommend additional health care for your pet.
