Tree 53 may put on a brave face in his kennel, but underneath, he's a soft-hearted, medium-to-large-sized guy who just needs a little extra reassurance. This brave parvo survivor is working on finding his confidence, and once he's on the leash, he'll cautiously follow your lead. When he's feeling uncertain, Tree 53 will lean into you or try to tuck himself behind your legs, showing his sweet and gentle side. He'd do best in a calm, patient home without young kids, where he can take things at his own pace. If you're ready to be Tree 53's safe place, he's waiting to meet you.
If you are interested in adopting, please visit the shelter during adoption hours. Be sure to let the front desk know the name of the dog you are interested in visiting. Once you have met with the dog and an application has been approved, we will then ask to complete a meet and greets with any dog(s) that are currently living in the home or visit frequently.

Thursday: 2pm-6:30pm
Saturday & Sunday: 12pm-4:30pm

An average of 500 pets arrive at the HSSC each month. About 80% come to us as strays and the rest are surrendered by owners who can no longer keep or care for their pets.
