My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Taz is an adult male American Pit Bull Terrier mix who was brought to HSOV on August 30, 2024 after he was surrendered by his owner to the Washington County Ohio Dog Warden.

Taz has a white short smooth coat with subtle tan patches on his back, a long tail, and a handsome face with brown 'teddy bear' eyes, a large tan patch on the right-hand side of his face, a black button nose, and large semi-erect ears.

Taz has a friendly outgoing personality and wanted attention (and doggy treats) more than anything else in the world when HSOV Kennel Tech Cadince Bibbee accompanied him for his outdoor photo session on September 3, 2024. Taz was super-excited to be outside with Cadince for some exercise, playtime and 'good boy' treats. .. And we know how much he enjoyed being out of his large floor crates where he is currently being housed since all of our dog kennels are full.

Taz appears to be an intelligent guy and was soon obeying the 'sit command' for Cadince who offered him treats as rewards for good behavior.

Taz was very thin (and weighed just 41 lbs) when he entered our shelter. Taz was taken to one of our wonderful local veterinarians for medical evaluation soon after his arrival.

We look forward to taking more flattering pictures of Taz when he has gained some weight to fill out his slim, trim physique .. But wanted to share these first photos so that potential adopters would know that Taz is in our shelter and will soon be looking for a great forever home (or a foster home) since he was not reclaimed.
