Meet the Pet
Meet Chiles! Chiles is a beautiful, high energy female border collie mix who likes long walks, swimming, playing ball and snuggles. She gets along well with other dogs, but is still a bit shy of new humans and can be a bit anxious with new people. She warms up quickly though and is very friendly once she knows you. For example, on a recent visit she barked and kept a safe distance from a friend who came to visit, but after a few minutes she quickly calmed down and came over for petting. She has not been fostered or tested with cats. Chile is crate trained and views her crate as her safe space, if she gets nervous she will happily go to her crate on her own. She had a bad experience with kids when she was young and is not recommended for a home with small children. She prefers to eat in her crate as she is fostered with several dogs and can get protective of her food, so she feels calmer when she can eat in peace. Like most border collies she is extremely smart and the first sign of this was that she learned to open doors! Chiles is a beautiful girl who will do well in an active adult home with a secure fenced yard, where she can get all the exercise and love she needs to build her confidence.
