Lychee is an incredible little guy with a story of resilience and transformation. He was found wandering the desert with a pack of feral dogs, undersocialized and overwhelmed in the noisy shelter environment. But everything changed when he arrived at his foster home, where his true personality began to shine.
From the moment he stepped into his foster home, Lychee`s curiosity, intelligence, and playful spirit helped him push through his fears. Despite never living in a house before, he bravely faced the unknown, from the strange glow and sounds of the TV (which left him wide-eyed with wonder) to barking at his own reflection in the mirror. With some trial and error, he quickly figured out which toys were his to chew and play with, and soon enough, his funny, playful side emerged.
What stands out most about Lychee is his eagerness to connect. In just one week, this once-terrified pup went from hiding in corners to following his foster mom’s every move, even asking for attention and pets. His transformation is a testament to his courage and longing for companionship.
Lychee`s natural understanding of dog behavior makes him an excellent playmate. He gets along great with his aloof foster sister and his playful, gentle giant of a pit bull foster brother. He reads other dogs` cues effortlessly and would make a perfect second dog for a home looking to expand their pack. He watches the other dogs closely, following their lead—whether it’s getting excited when his foster mom comes home from work or eagerly anticipating dinner time.
Lychee has picked up new skills quickly. Within a week, he learned how to use the dog door and now goes outside to do his business like a pro. He’s also learning to sit, showing just how smart and adaptable he is.
Lychee’s foster mom couldn’t be prouder of how far he’s come. He’s looking for a patient adopter who can help him continue to grow, and ideally, a doggy friend who can show him the ropes. If you’re ready to meet a loving, loyal, and brave little survivor, Lychee might be the perfect addition to your home. Contact the foster team or hmwayt@gmail.com for more info.
