BUDDY ~1 year old. Good with older, considerate kids and dogs. Cats TBD. Requires a companion animal and fenced yard.
GSRA adopts to residents of VA, NC, and SC only.
Introducing sweet Buddy. He’s currently about one year old and has now been given the all clear from his ortho vet after having hip surgery. Buddy is the sweetest boy, but still a puppy at heart, probably because he was on restrictions and couldn’t be a normal puppy when he was younger. He can be quite mouthy when he’s excited, he corrects easily but would not be a good fit for younger children.
Buddy is awesome with other dogs, big and small. He likes to wrestle and chase play. Buddy’s a great car rider and is crate and house trained. The only thing Buddy’s lacking is confidence, he’s very timid in general and will need a family willing to work with him by taking him out and about so that he learns the world is not out to get him, he has zero aggression his preference is to escape whatever scares him. He’s more comfortable with women than men but will warm up to men with the help of other resident dogs.
Buddy won’t be a big dog, probably 60ish pounds as a full grown boy. Like most gsds Buddy likes to be with his people, he will follow you everywhere but when you leave him in another room he will calmly lay by the door until you return. Buddy needs a playful confident dog friend in his forever home as well as a fenced yard. Buddy has been tested briefly with cats, he was super interested but probably could be trained to leave a confident cat. Come meet Buddy soon and let him bring some sunshine into your world.
