May (called MayMay) is a very sweet 3 year old female with a beautiful soft fur that doesn`t shed much, that was surrendered when her owner moved and could not bring her along. She is a timid and shy cat that needs time to feel safe and secure, but in her foster home she started to come out of her safe place within a couple of days and enjoys being petted and brushed. She can be a real cuddle bug at night and loves being talked to with a soft voice. Quick movements and loud noises often startle her and she doesn`t like to be picked up. She is learning to play and to explore and a crinkle toy and a box with catnip will make her happy as does a window seat to look at birds. May would do best in a quiet home with no children that understands that she may need more time to feel safe and comfortable and she did well living with a 5 yr old low energy cat previously. She does very well with an enclosed litterbox and has not been observed in her foster home to scratch furniture. She will bring her own litterbox and her favorite toys to her new home. May is also one of our Special Care pets, meaning she may need a bit more love and care. May has ongoing anxiety, and currently taking medication to help with this. We are continuing to learn more about May, and you can too! If May sounds like your new furry companion, contact Anti-Cruelty today!
