You may think unique looking Wanda is some type of Terrier mix, but she is actually a Portuguese Podengo Pequeno, a breed known to have many wonderful traits, most notably playful, charming, lively, inquisitive, and intelligent. Wanda certainly has these qualities and loves to share them with people, and just have lots of fun. She is a friendly, active, and very playful girl, who loves to play with toys, play fetch, romp in the yard, and just be silly. Wanda will also cuddle up for some love, affection, and belly rubs, and show off her sweet side.

Wanda is about 8 1/2 years old and 21 pounds, (she should be about

17-18 pounds at proper weight). She would be fine as the only dog in her new home, or with another easy going dog about her size. Wanda will make a great companion for the right person, someone who can give her lots of love and playtime. If you believe you are a great match for Wanda, please put in an application today. Submit Application

The first step in adopting from Shih Tzu Rescue is to fill out an application on our website at shihtzurescue.org

2.
Visit the Facility and Find a Pet

Once your application has been approved we will schedule an appointment for you to visit our shelter and dogs and take home with you.

Additional adoption info

We have an adoption contract that must be completed and approved. We require vet and personal references as well home checks. Our normal response time is approximately 7 to 10 working days. Our Adoption Committee works very hard to place our dogs in environments where they will be most likely to succeed. Please understand that we have more applications than we do dogs and that if you do not hear from us within that timeframe, we currently do not have a dog who we feel would match your needs.

Our fee includes neuter or spay, all shots, and snap test for heartworm/erlichia/lyme. We take care of whatever their medical needs might be before they are adopted. WE ADOPT TO ALL OF FLORIDA AS WELL AS OTHER STATES. WE DO NOT SHIP
