SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS - Meet our sweet and happy Matilda! She is the bestest girl ever and she's waiting patiently for you to come meet and play with her. She LOVES to run and play almost as much as she loves being right by your side with sloppy smooches! Matilda was recently found as a stray in a rural eastern NC county and taken to the shelter. Sadly no one claimed and her euthanasia date was scheduled. At the last minute we learned about this perfect girl from rescue friends and we jumped into action. Matilda seems to know that she is special and that we believed in her. She's been a joy to interact with and we are anxious to find the perfect home and family for her. At a year old she is fully grown, weighing in at 24 pounds. What a great size for most homes! She is long and low like a corgi, but is clearly a mix of something perfect. Matilda is in great health and is ready to find her perfect family. She is spayed, microchipped, and fully vaccinated. We are seeking a home with an active adopter who has the ability to work from home or be at home the majority of the day to spend time with this amazing dog! A home with a fenced, secure yard will provide her room to safely run and play, hopefully with lots of toys! Matilda is not well suited to small children or very small dogs who could be upset by his enthusiasm, but will fit nicely into many other homes.
Our adoption process starts with your email to carerescue@aol.com or Adopt a Pet inquiry. After we receive it, we will email you our prescreening questionnaire. Your answers will help us determine that your home and lifestyle matches the needs of Matilda and our adoption criteria. Once determined, we will set up a private meeting with you and your family to meet her at a park near our private kennel just east of Richmond. After meeting her and determining that she matches your preferences for a pet, we will accept your application. A home visit by one of our trained volunteers is required for all adoptions, and we will speak with your vet to ensure that you are a responsible pet owner. More information on our website at www.carerva.com.
