My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

If you’re looking for a goofy, playful, snuggle bug then Guido might be the boy for you! He is about a one and a half year old mini bernedoodle looking for his forever home. Guido is house-broken with very rare accidents. He absolutely loves having another young playful dog around to wrestle with, but is also fine in a home with just humans as he does love getting all the attention. He gets very excited about walks and dinner time and gets very vocal so sorry to your eardrums! He also adores going on car rides and once in the car is the best copilot.

A home where someone is there most of the time is best given that he is still young and tends to get bored when home alone for too long (mind your shoes and laundry baskets!). He sleeps in his dog bed next to his humans bed at night, but if you’ll let him he’d love nothing more than snuggle up right under your arm in bed! He does show some signs of separation anxiety so an adopter that works from home and is not gone often is ideal. His barking does not make him apartment or condo friendly.

Guido is a very special dog, when you see him running and jumping and playing you almost don’t realize that he walks a little funny. The reason he walks a little funny is he was born with hip dysplasia. As a rescue, we did our due diligence with several specialists to include X-rays, to see how we could best move forward with Guidos care. We were explicitly advised that surgery was not necessary at this time. Right now his day to day activities and current lifestyle are not hindered by his hips and he gets along just fine. We do want Guido’s potential adopters to be aware of his hip dysplasia, knowing *some day* he *might* need surgery - while keeping in mind that he is happy and healthy otherwise.

Guido is very dog friendly and plays with dogs all shapes and sizes. He loves human interaction as much as other dogs so it’s not required he have a playmate, though he would love one
