My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

AN ADORABLE FRIEND FOR YOU:  Approx. 10 months old / Approx. 24 lbs. & growing

Hello, my name’s Preston!  I was rescued by Mostly Mutts from animal control, and I could not be more grateful.  I got to spend some time in the prison foster/training program and learned a lot as well as had lots of fun!  Now I'm looking forward to finding my new home and family very soon!

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I recently met dogs at Mostly Mutts and liked them, so if you have a nice doggie at home already, let’s meet!  / Cats unknown. / I met a younger child recently and really liked them. In fact, I was so excited to meet them that I was a little jumpy and mouthy, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over with my puppy enthusiasm.

• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m a friendly, happy and sweet pup with a gentle nature.  I really am the best of both worlds when it comes to puppies.  Well behaved for my photo shoot, calm and wonderful for my shelter bath and nail trim … then ‘all puppy’ – running zoomies in the play yard.  The volunteers say I am ‘a sweet boy with a puppy spirit’ that you are sure to love!  I get a little mouthy with excitement when I want to play but turn into a cuddlebug when play time is over.  I like to bark at things that I think need your attention, so it may be best that I don’t live in an apartment style home.  / My energy level is 5-7.

• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I am a proud graduate of the Mostly Mutts University training program and have mastered the 'sit', 'stay', 'down', 'come', 'drop it', 'leave it' and 'place' commands.  I also use proper door etiquette and have good leash manners as well as accept nice strangers without jumping (though sometimes I forget this last one temporarily). / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts. / In the prison foster/training program, I learned to let you know that I need to go potty but did still have accidents if I wasn’t taken out in time. So, let’s keep working on that together, so I fully master my potty skills.

• LIKES/DISLIKES:  A typical, fun pup, I love to play and have a blast running zoomies, so a nice, fenced yard would be a great place for us to spend some play time together in my new home.  My favorite thing at Mostly Mutts (besides the volunteers) is the toy basket!! I love emptying it and searching high and low for us to find the perfect toy to play with.  Affectionate and loving, I am all about the cuddles, so let’s make time for lots of those! / I can’t think of any real dislikes, though I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training.

• MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered.

I am looking for a loving home with a great family for life!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.

Mostly Mutts Animal Rescue & Adoption's Adoption Process

Our facility is currently open to the public Monday-Saturday, 11-3. We welcome you to come meet our adoptable Mutts & Kitties! Please keep in mind the following:

Many of our adoptable Mutts & Kitties are in foster homes, so please call 770-272-6888 to find out if the pet you are interested in is at our facility. With an approved application we can set up meet & greets and adoptions with a pet in foster care.
We are not yet up to full ‘staffing’ following the pandemic, so there may be times when we cannot do meet & greets or process an application on the spot.
The best first step is to submit an application via www.mostlymutts.org.
Our adoption counselors are happy to help make a great match for you and your family!

Adoption Info:
Please submit an application through our website at www.mostlymutts.org if you are interested in one of our adoptable pets. We are receiving a large volume of applications and processing may take a little bit longer than normal. We are grateful for your interest, and an adoption counselor will be in touch as quickly as possible. Please give us 48 hours to respond before sending a follow-up email.

Don’t see a dog or cat for you on the website? Submit the application anyway!! We are taking in a large number of dogs and cats weekly. Due to the overwhelming demand, many are matched with approved applicants prior to being posted online. Our adoption counselors will be happy to help make a great match for you and your family.

Who We Are:

Mostly Mutts is a 501(c)3, non-profit organization, staffed almost entirely by volunteers!

Our Mission is to help the Unwanted, Abandoned, Abused and Sick animals in our local counties. We fulfill this mission by working closely with County Animal Control Facilities, saving those who are in imminent danger of euthanasia, or those with needs which require specialized vet care that many other groups will not consider: major orthopedic issues, heartworm positive treatment, skin conditions, neglect and abuse
