Josie is a 4 month old Wheaten Terrier x Miniature Poodle mix who is ready to brighten your day with a smile! Josie was surrendered to our rescue when her former owner passed away and the family needed a place for Josie. We agreed to take her in and it’s been nothing but roses ever since. Josie has a combination coat so she won’t be an option for those with true allergies, but she may be lighter shedding when her adult coat comes in. We expect her to be in the high teens or low twenties in terms of adult weight. Don’t let this scruffy cutie slip through your fingers!

Josie is a loving and outgoing puppy who makes best friends wherever she goes! She adores belly rubs, cuddles, playtime, and smiling! Her tail never stops wagging and it’s impossible to resist her puppy dog eyes. Josie will be a fabulous companion for an active family. Whether it’s running, hiking, or just daily trips around the block, our gal is ready for anything! As long as you are ready for a loyal best friend, she is trusting you to show her the world. Looking to make new friends? Josie will help make you the talk of the local dog park. Your social calendar will be full of playdates and paw-tinis! Josie has such a fabulous temperament mixed with the perfect loving personality. Her foster mom raves about her and that is high praise coming from her! This is a once in a lifetime kind of gal and we know her lucky forever home will hit the jackpot!

Josie’s morning starts around 7 AM with a trip outside for potty. She trots inside and then enjoys one of her favorite parts of the day - breakfast! Josie alternates between playing with her toys, cuddling her foster sibling, and snoozing throughout the day. It’s a hard life being an adorable puppy. In the evening, she plays with her foster mom and siblings until she has her dinner and starts to unwind from the day. After a long day of play and being generally adorable, Josie goes out for one last potty trip before she settles easily into her crate. Josie sleeps soundly through the night.

Josie gets along wonderfully with all dogs, big and small. Her best friend is an Australian Shepherd and they love to chase each other around the yard to burn off puppy energy. Josie is working on her basic obedience and leash walking skills as a puppy but she is making great progress! Josie is accident-free in her foster home. Josie is so excited to meet you and make you her new best friend!

Josie is only an option for homes who have owned a dog of their own in the last 5 years. Kids in the home should be over the age of 7.

More about this rescue

We are passionate folks who love dogs and love people! We strive to make the most appropriate match between human and canine. Because our dogs live in foster homes we know about their temperament and personality and therefore can help families and individuals decide if the dog is a good match or not. We are excited to help people find the right pooch for them and look forward to meeting great folks and welcoming them into the DPS Family.
