My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Rubina was born around August 27, 2019 and weighs about 12 pounds. Rubina is a sweet and gentle girl who was sadly abandoned in a nearby town and we feel a backyard breeder may have used her to make puppies and then thrown her way.  We feel this is the case due to the condition of her teeth upon arrival, her protruding nipples, her circling behavior when in a confined space and the most sad thing is that she is having what we call puppy mill foot flare-ups.  This is indicative that she has been warehoused (YES WAREHOUSED!!!) in a small cage with wire flooring.  "Millers" warehouse stacks of breeder dogs in cages several high and the wire floors allow the waste to fall to the pull-out trays below for easy clean up and less handling of the dogs.  Yes, this is legal even in NYS, and anyone who purchases puppies without meeting the parents is condoning this treatment.  Rubina has had a dental but due to prolonged neglect there may be another needed sooner rather than later and the foot flareups are treated by soaking in Epson salts and if the swelling is severe it is likely antibiotics will be needed off and on. Also, due to her past life she will more than likely need house training work and it will benefit both Rubina and her humans if she is allowed to have potty floor pads handy at all times. Rubina may also have some vision loss.  Despite her tough past, she's a resilient pup with a heart full of love to give. Rubina is a little shy at first, but once she warms up, she'll be your most loyal companion. Rubina rides well in the car and loves other dogs. Rubina is ready to find her forever home where she can feel safe and loved unconditionally. Could you be the one to give her a second chance?

Adoption Fee: $550.00

.
Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. In general our fees include spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccines, Home Again micro-chipping & registration, worming & flea control - a "complete" pet. We accept CASH or Visa/Mastercard ONLY.

Joyful Rescues has no funding except for our adoption fees and miscellaneous donations. Pet care and vet bills are expensive - you must be ready to take on this financial (as well as emotional) responsibility.

YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 25 YEARS OF AGE TO ADOPT A DOG FROM JOYFUL RESCUES

We keep our pet list as up-to-date as possible. As soon as a pet is adopted, it is removed from the list. If a pet is still showing, it is still available for adoption.
