My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

***Velcro is a courtesy listing. Please submit an application and we will put you directly in touch with his caretakers. Any meet and greets and adoptions will be handled directly by them.***

Meet Velcro! This 1.5-year-old weighs 65 lbs. This adventurous, athletic, affectionate guy is quite the social butterfly. He’ll greet you every day with an enthusiastic “wiggle butt” and a goofy grin.

  • General Behavior: Velcro would love to be with his human all day but he will also settle well in his bed with his Kong Wubba. He loves going for walks but can be a little nervous about new loud noises, but with encouragement he finds confidence to succeed.

  • Likes & Dislikes: Velcro is an energetic guy who loves toys—the more, the merrier!

  • Training: Velcro is a smart cookie. He is housetrained, walks well on the leash, is a good passenger in the car, and generally has good basic manners.

  • Medical: Velcro is a healthy boy! He just needs his monthly flea and heartworm preventatives, like any dog.

  • Other Animals: Velcro has a lot of energy and would love to play with other dogs who can match his energy in a neutral manner. He has not been observed around cats, but his caretakers don’t think that they would get along.

  • Children: Velcro hasn’t been observed around children yet.

  • Home: This easy-going guy would be happy in an apartment, condo, or single-family home: anywhere he can park his toys and snuggle up for some pats.

  • Grooming: As a short-haired dog, Velcro doesn’t have any elaborate grooming needs.

  • Overall: An active family is going to be very lucky to get this adventurous, resilient, quiet, curious, silly guy to share your lives?

Velcro is a courtesy listing. Please submit an application and we will put you directly in touch with his caretakers. Any meet and greets and adoptions will be handled directly by them. He is up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, and neutered.

We are a foster-based rescue organization and do not have a facility. We have all events posted on our website each month.

More about this rescue

Poodle and Pooch Rescue is a 501(c)3 non profit organization that saves dogs that truly need help. We rescue the "leftovers" from animal control, the dogs nobody wants because they're older or suffer from neglect, abuse or have a medical need. Their "last" day becomes the first day of their new life. We provide the veterinary care they need, a foster family they love and when they're ready, we adopt them to a family who cherishes them. We do not have a physical shelter because every dog lives with one of our foster families. We are all volunteers so your tax-deductible donation goes directly to help the dogs. We have saved over 5,500 dogs since 2008.
