My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

There isn’t a dreamier pooch than our very own Dibo! This brindle boy is a true heart melter!

While he’s been with us, Dibo has quickly learned that he is deserving of love! The fastest way to his heart is with toys and treats. When you bring out a stuffed toy, he is eager to play and shows off his sweet, silly self. Once he makes a new friend, there is no one more endearing! Soon enough, darling Dibo will politely approach you and ask for pets and head scratches.

Dibo has made great progress in becoming a more confident pup, especially in the outdoor world, which can be overwhelming for him. His ideal adopter would give him the time and space he needs to continue blossoming. Dibo is also super comfortable with other dogs, and he has made many canine buddies here at the Adoption Center!

  • Dibo does well with other dogs and should meet potential canine roommates one-on-one first. Our staff would love to help make introductions!
  • Dibo is looking for a home where he can take walks in a quiet, low-traffic area.
  • Dibo would benefit from an adopter who can provide him with training to become his best self.

**The ASPCA is committed to prioritizing the health and safety of the community, the animals in our care and our staff, and we are keeping a close eye on developments related to the COVID-19 crisis as they evolve. As such, the ASPCA Adoption Center in New York City is currently closed for in-person visitors. However, we are excited to offer remote adoptions using video conferencing! In-person meet-and-greets are also sometimes available or required for specific animals. More about this shelter

The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) was the first humane society to be established in North America and is, today, one of the largest in the world. Our organization was founded by Henry Bergh in 1866 on the belief that animals are entitled to kind and respectful treatment at the hands of humans, and must be protected under the law. Headquartered in New York City, the ASPCA maintains a strong local presence, and with programs that extend our anti-cruelty mission across the country, we are recognized as a national animal welfare organization. We are a privately funded 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation, and proud to boast more than 1 million supporters across the country.
