My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Pibs here! I' m a chill boy waiting at the shelter for my forever human to come pick me up. I was walking on the streets one day when a kind human found me, fed me, and got me some help. I'm pretty confused here but I have a feeling someone great is coming for me soon! I enjoy long walks on the streets and some yummy treats. I also love hanging with doggo friends so would love to meet those if you have any.

Do I sound like a good friend for you? I'd love it if you came to meet me at ACCT Philly! Any day from 10am-6pm. See you soon friend!

Behavior:
Per Volunteer 9/6/24:
Had very gentle and loose body language when I approached and allowed leashing very easily! Walks super nicely without any pulling. Another volunteer was leaning against the wall around a corner on our way out and he stopped suddenly and cowered back. She offered him a treat and he approached her loose and wagging. Just a little hesitant but showed no reactivity.

Had a really great meet with Sky Fox outside! She came on pretty strong to him and he was super tolerant. After a minute he walked away to take a second to himself. At one point their leashes got tangled and SF snapped at him briefly but he was patient and didn't react at all while we untangled leashes. In the play yard he liked exploring the smells, didn't seem super interested in pets so we just hung out and let him walk around. Easy boy!

Per Staff 9/6/24:
BEHAVIOR EVALUATION: Pibs

KNOWN HISTORY:
Stray

KENNEL PRESENTATION:
In the crate Pibs was laying down. When he saw the handler he stood up and did a couple wags with a neutral body, easy to leash and came right out

LEASH SKILLS:
-Pulled minimally- good crate meet with passenger princess (both had wags and good sniffs)

HANDLING:
Pibs came into the eval room with a neutral/aloof body. He is avoidant of touch and gave some lip licks and tensed up when the handler tried to pet him. For a squeaky toy he gave some wags but would quickly stop. He is a bit stubborn and stuck in his ways, he didn't want any treats or to do any tricks. He did some more wags when the handler was down on his level and froze when she got back up. He is conflicted with touch and needs time to adjust.

PLAY
Will follow and run around with the handler before getting bored

TOYS:
No interest

Per Staff 9/5/24:
Dog very fearful - no aggression will not try to bite
