My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there, my name is Quincy! I'm a 10 month old Heinz 57 mutt extraordinaire, and I'm searching for my forever home...could it be with you? I would really appreciate going to a home with a canine companion who loves to play and can show me how to be a confident pooch! I love chewing bones, playing with squeaky toys, watching squirrels, and running around with the putters when my parents miss the disc golf basket in our yard. I was found as a Raleigh stray, but my foster mom says that I'm a good house dog. I haven't lived with my foster family for very long, but here's what they have to say about me:

Quincy is a great balance of calm and playful. He is quite shy around us humans, but he loves his foster fur siblings! He had a great time participating in playgroups when he was at the shelter, playing well with both males and females. In our home, he has gotten along fantastically with our two female dogs. He respects my older dog when she tells him she doesn't want to play, and he has a blast wrestling with and playing tag/chase with my younger girl. He is perfectly crate trained and mostly house trained! We know he is a smart boy who learns quickly, as he is using our doggy door already. When we go out on walks he is pretty chill on the leash, though he has started to take an interest in squirrels and cats, and on just day 2 of living with us he already knew the way to walk us right back home to our front door! We are currently working on sit and drop it. Quincy is very soft, and is slowly learning to enjoy receiving pets and affection from us humans, especially when we wait for him to approach us first. Quincy is a sweetheart but is a bit of a clumsy bowling ball and doesn't always watch where he is going while he is playing outside. For this reason we recommend that he not go to a home with small children, and possibly no cats.
