My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My foster writes:
With patience, Blakey's curiosity allows him to come out of his shell. Blakey loves butt rubs and petting, but only for a short period of time. Blakey enjoys strings and wands, as he has a high energy level throughout the day. He loves discovering new hiding spots and coming out to play.

What my friends at ACC say about me:

I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe.

I prefer to call the shots and enjoy coming to you when I'm ready for pets.

A volunteer writes: Leaping all over his condo like it's his personal bouncy house, Blakey loves to play. Brought to us in May, I've watched Blakey's dynamic personality blossom and bloom. I know it hasn't come so easily to him, but I love everything he's shown me and I treasure the opportunities he's shared. I remember when he first came in and hardly left his den. Then, there was when he'd come out for treats and a couple of pets before seeking his cubby. I also remember when Blakey would stretch and look out with open curiosity at Adoptions. With his wide open face, Blakey appeared to be waiting for the best time to jump in. To see Blakey now, dancing at the front of his condo like he's the star of Adoptions, reminds me that I love him and that it's hard to really get to know such a special cat in the shelter. While it's been far too long for him to be without a family to call his own, he seems to be especially grateful for a little love and attention on his own terms. We know there's a forever family out there waiting to welcome Blakey.
