Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Puzzle is a handsome 6 year old pup and he certainly knows it! This petite dude only weighs about 30 lbs! He's super smart, friendly, and a hidden gem waiting to be found! Puzzle loves attention and is such a sweetheart. He does fine with kids. He also does fine with other dogs but with that said, he would be just fine as an only dog - and might be quite happy to be the only pup at home! He LOVES to play fetch with all the toys (he's a true tennis ball enthusiast!). He's silly and will bark at the animals on TV. He's calm in the house and knows when it's time to settle down but is always up and ready to go for an adventure or play fetch. He loves car rides but he can't enjoy long walks or going up large steps of stairs due to his back legs. He follows you like a shadow around the house. He's an amazing little dog who is patiently waiting to win your heart!!
Puzzle originally came to us after being rescued from the streets of TJ. He had surgery for a broken back and it became apparent that he had a prior broken leg which healed incorrectly at a 95 degree angle (when it should be 45). Despite this, he gets around just fine with little to no assistance. He does have wheels to help on longer walks if needed but he doesn't like his wheels or boots very much. When he walks, he simply doesn't pick up his back feet so they tend to drag or crisscross.
He's house trained, crate trained, leash trained, rides well in the car, and is so ready to bring you a lifetime of love and joy!

More about this rescue
Hope Ranch Animal Sanctuary is a non-profit organization; obtained our 501(c)3 in 2011 - ID #27-0810495
Located in Anza, CA
Kathy Haley had originally started as a rescue for abused and neglected large animals such as donkeys, llamas, alpacas, pigs, and more. At the time, she was also a volunteer at a dog rescue. After learning about the importance of rescue work, Kathy saw an opportunity to help by employing her own ideas about animal welfare, rescue and care taking the "whole animal," mind, body and spirit into consideration. A few years later, she met Lisa Ashe. Kathy and Lisa had so many ideas, dreams, and goals in common. They instantly clicked and that was when Hope Ranch Animal Sanctuary, a non-profit organization, was born in 2011 and have been going strong since.
At Hope Ranch Animal Sanctuary, we are dedicated to taking in abused, neglected, and euthanasia listed animals that deserve a second chance and need us the most.
All of our animals are:
Spayed/Neutered
Current on all vaccines
Rabies Vaccinated
Dewormed
Micro-chipped (lifetime registered & paid)
Received all proper medical care when needed (surgeries, dentals, medications, grooming, etc)
While many of our animals are sanctuary or "permanent residents", we do have lots of adoptable pets who are patiently waiting for their forever homes.
We are unique in the fact that our dogs do not live in kennels; instead they live with us in our home on about 5 acres of property located in Anza, CA or they are in foster homes in and around the Temecula, CA area. They have full access to our home and property and sleep inside with us at night.
This ensures that our pets are well adjusted and perfectly suited to become a part of your family.
Because the sanctuary is also our home, we do not have regular public visiting hours but we do have many visitors.
We just have to arrange it to fit the schedule of our animals, ourselves, and you.
