My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Animal Profile: Max is an estimated 18-month-old 45 lb neutered male Hound mix that joined us from Caddo Parish Shelter in Louisiana. He was about 8 months old at intake and is growing up in foster care. He is ready for a home to call his own!

Foster Update:  Max is a sweet young dog who came to us with no training but a ton of exuberance. In foster care he has learned basic obedience, crate training, and leash manners. Max loves to lay with other dogs and and, true to his hound nature, will occasionally randomly bay while playing! Max developed some sensitivity with handling (specifically aversion to nail trims) so he's worked with a professional trainer and made a ton of progress; we're happy to report his fosters can now trim his nails! Max would benefit from an active home that can provide mental/physical stimulation, and a compatible canine companion is preferred but not required. This boy is a great size and will make an awesome go everywhere companion for a loyal family.

Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.

Animal History: Max fka Champ was rescued from Caddo Parish Animal Services via Tall Tails Transport. He arrived on 11/29 and will be available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care.
