My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Mila, a loving and sweet 11-year-old American Bulldog who’s searching for her new forever home. Mila is a mellow and easygoing girl who is great with people and has a heart full of affection.

Though she may be reactive on a leash and isn’t fond of other dogs or cats, Mila’s gentle nature makes her a wonderful companion for someone looking for a loving senior dog. She was returned to us because her previous owner faced medical issues and could no longer care for her.

Mila does have some incontinence, which is common in older dogs. She’ll need frequent potty breaks, whether through walks or in a secure backyard. Despite this, her loving and devoted personality shines through, making her an ideal companion for someone who can offer her the care and attention she needs.

If you’re ready to open your home and heart to a sweet and affectionate senior, Mila is eager to bring her warmth and love into your life.

More about this rescue

We are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing dogs from various Los Angeles shelters the day they are to be euthanized. Our goal is to help provide animals with a second chance to a happy life and to help reduce pet overpopulation through spay and neuter programs. Once rescued, we place our dogs into loving foster homes while they await adoption. We do not keep dogs in kennels. Placing the dogs in foster homes is the first step to rehabilitation, as it allows us to thoroughly evaluate a dog's demeanor and needs enabling us to make the perfect match of dog and permanent owner. We attribute our high rate of successful placement to our foster program. At Ace of Hearts, we do not discriminate against any breed, including those in the bully breed family. Additionally, Ace of Hearts is dedicated to educating the public on how to be responsible pet owners and on the importance of spaying and neutering. We believe the real solution to pet overpopulation is through spaying and neutering pets.
