Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Goodall entered San Bernardino City Animal Control as a stray. When she wasn't claimed during her hold period, we scooped her up on September 4th to become a Frosted Face. She is 9 years old, weighs 43 lbs., and is very sweet.
Goodall is timid, but volunteers note that she seems to be gaining confidence and enjoying on walks. She loves chicken and welcomes pampering by being fed by hand. She takes each bite slowly and gently. Goodall has impreccable manners and a soft, luxurious coat.
Goodall is currently on a two-week Frosted Fling, so we can learn what she like in a home environment. We received a great report from her Fling Mom:
"Goodall (I call her Dali) is the sweetest, gentlest soul ever. It seems like everything is new to her, so she was a little leery at first, but she's coming along. I don't think she's ever lived in a house and seems much more at ease in the yard. When in the house, she only likes being in the kitchen, where she can see the yard through the glass doors.
When we first met, Dali's tail was tucked so far between her legs, you couldn't see it. Now she wags it when she sees me first thing in the morning or when I return home.
Dali walks like a dream - always beside and a little behind me. So far we've been on a few one mile walks through the neighborhood, and we walk every morning. She seems to tolerate it well despite her being older and slow moving. She doesn't like the leash going over her head but once it's on, she's fine.
At home, Dali spends the majority of her time laying down, but now that she's figured out how good scritches feel, she shyly asks for them as long as I am in the kitchen or outside. I've tried giving her a toy, but sadly it seems like she's never had one. It seems like she's getting more comfortable here. I haven't heard a peep out of her except for one soft whimper when I stopped petting her. She has had no accidents and appears to sleep through the night with no trouble.
When a couple friends came by she kept her distance, but followed us when we went outside. And she did gently take some chicken from one of the ladies. Other than that we have had limited interactions so far, but I will keep you posted. With some love and kindness. Dali is adapting nicely, but it may take some time for her to feel totally safe."
