Meet Harvey, a 6-year-old, 40 lb doodle who was surrendered to our rescue after a challenging situation in his previous home. Harvey had spent years being calm and patient around his young human siblings, but after years of being uneasy with the chaos of kids running and playing, he finally reached his limit and lashed out. His family realized that Harvey would thrive in a home with a quieter, more predictable environment, ideally with adults or older children who understand his needs.
Harvey's previous boarder and groomer couldn't praise him enough. They described him as a joy to care for, and his foster family has had the same experience. Harvey is fully trained, walks beautifully on a leash, knows commands, and is crate trained—though he loves being close to his humans and would enjoy cuddling in bed with you. He gets along well with other dogs and is an absolute dream to have in the home and rides well in the car. His foster dad shared that Harvey greets new people with a friendly bark and wants to be petted. This guy would love to be 24/7 if you were up for it!
We believe Harvey would do best in a home with adults or teenage children who respect his space. He’s house-trained, great on walks, and enjoys outdoor fun, making him the perfect companion for someone who wants an “easier” type dog. Regular grooming will keep him looking and feeling his best.
