My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Clara Cupcake, a delightful 4-year-old English Bulldog with a sweet disposition and a heart of gold. Clara Cupcake was rescued on the very day she was scheduled to be euthanized, having been used for breeding and then abandoned at a shelter.

Clara Cupcake is a lovable couch potato who enjoys lounging around and relaxing in the comfort of her home. She gets along well with both other dogs and cats, making her a great addition to a multi-pet household. However, Clara Cupcake can be protective of her space and family, so she needs slow and gentle introductions to new people within her home. She might get a bit nippy when meeting new faces indoors, but she’s perfectly fine meeting people outside the house.

With her calming presence and affectionate nature, Clara Cupcake is looking for a loving home where she can enjoy a comfortable, laid-back lifestyle and receive the care and patience she deserves. If you’re ready to give this sweet girl the cozy home she’s been waiting for, Clara Cupcake will be a devoted and loving companion.

More about this rescue

We are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing dogs from various Los Angeles shelters the day they are to be euthanized. Our goal is to help provide animals with a second chance to a happy life and to help reduce pet overpopulation through spay and neuter programs. Once rescued, we place our dogs into loving foster homes while they await adoption. We do not keep dogs in kennels. Placing the dogs in foster homes is the first step to rehabilitation, as it allows us to thoroughly evaluate a dog's demeanor and needs enabling us to make the perfect match of dog and permanent owner. We attribute our high rate of successful placement to our foster program. At Ace of Hearts, we do not discriminate against any breed, including those in the bully breed family. Additionally, Ace of Hearts is dedicated to educating the public on how to be responsible pet owners and on the importance of spaying and neutering. We believe the real solution to pet overpopulation is through spaying and neutering pets.
