My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Blankets and Jack Jack, a dynamic duo of American Bulldog mixes who are ready to find their forever home together. Rescued from a high-kill shelter just before their time was up, these two are deeply bonded and have been through a lot together.

Blankets is a sweet, timid female with a distinctive patch over one eye. She looks to Jack Jack for guidance and feels most secure when he’s by her side. Blankets is toy-motivated and loves to play, though she’s still adjusting to her new life and needs patience and understanding.

Jack Jack, a mostly white male, is slightly more confident and treat-motivated. He’s a bit of a natural leader for Blankets and is eager to learn, though both dogs are still learning about human interaction and training. They’ll thrive in a loving, patient home where they can grow more comfortable and confident.

Both dogs are around 2 years old and are looking for a caring family who can provide them with the training and support they need to flourish. With time, love, and patience, Blankets and Jack Jack will reward you with their deep affection and loyalty.

More about this rescue

We are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing dogs from various Los Angeles shelters the day they are to be euthanized. Our goal is to help provide animals with a second chance to a happy life and to help reduce pet overpopulation through spay and neuter programs. Once rescued, we place our dogs into loving foster homes while they await adoption. We do not keep dogs in kennels. Placing the dogs in foster homes is the first step to rehabilitation, as it allows us to thoroughly evaluate a dog's demeanor and needs enabling us to make the perfect match of dog and permanent owner. We attribute our high rate of successful placement to our foster program. At Ace of Hearts, we do not discriminate against any breed, including those in the bully breed family. Additionally, Ace of Hearts is dedicated to educating the public on how to be responsible pet owners and on the importance of spaying and neutering. We believe the real solution to pet overpopulation is through spaying and neutering pets.
