Whiskey is a Courtesy Listing and is not housed at the Animal Shelter. Please note that the City of Bloomington Animal Care & Control accepts no responsibility for this pet. Potential adopters are responsible for communicating directly with the pet's guardian. Whiskey is a loving and gentle indoor cat. My wife and I adopted him before we had kids several years ago and no longer have as much available time to care for him. He's a very quiet and well tempered companion; he'll love to hop up on your lap in the evening and cuddle or just sit nearby and keep watch. Like any indoor animal, he can be prone to overeat if left with an open bowl. Our vet recommended 2/3s of a cup of food per day to help keep his weight down. A sensitive stomach blend (any protein should be fine) would be best as he's been known to throw up other dry food in the past. He also likes to eat plants and small leaves, which he can't keep down, so be sure to put any plants where he can't reach them! Other than that, he's a piece of cake! He's very well housetrained so just show him where the litter box is and he'll be good to go. Whiskey has always been a very patient cat and is used to living with us and our 3 kids, so little ones are par for the course for him. We also had a dog for several years and he (eventually) got along well with him too. I'm not sure how well he'd do in a household with multiple cats, since he's been our only cat, but he seems to have adapted to a few different situations already so it shouldn't be out of the question. There will be a $50 rehoming fee.
