My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Breed: Pointer/Jack Russel Mix (our best guess!)
Gender: Male
Estimated Date of Birth:  4/9/2024
Size: 31 pounds
Location: Wedowee, AL

RESCUING BINGO...
Bingo was part of an oops litter of 9 puppies who belonged to a local family.  The mom was a Jack Russel mix and the dad is unknown.  Two of the puppies sadly didn't survive.  We were contacted to help with the remaining 7 puppies and we took them in on June 20, 2024. We also had the momma dog spayed.  When we got these babies they were in rough shape - loaded with worms, fleas and ticks but we knew they needed to be saved and we are so happy we could help!  The pups in this litter are Bingo, Peaches, Zeke, Willy, June, Penelope (Adopted!) and Summer (Adopted!).

ABOUT BINGO...
Bingo is living in our rescue cottage with other dogs.  He is a super sweet puppy but he is shy and a follower so would do best with a patient family that has another dog who is confident and could show him the ropes.  He is a big snuggler and once he is comfortable and feels safe with his family he will show you non-stop love.  He is very playful, loves toys and bones. He does well with his crating routine and is fine in his crate but occasionally will still have an accident once or twice a week.  He would do well with kids and would make a great addition to a family.  Bingo walks well on a leash and currently has a fenced in yard.  He would do best with a yard to run and play in or with an active family that can get him out to burn off some energy.  Bingo also loves to play in the kiddie pool and would do great as a boating companion or a family that hikes near creeks or has a pool.

ADOPTING BINGO...
Bingo is neutered, current on all vaccines, dewormed, heartworm tested negative, microchipped and on monthly heartworm and flea/tick preventative.  His adoption fee is $200.00.  If you are interested in learning more about Bingo and potentially adopting him please complete an adoption application at https://www.rescueridgealabama.org/general-4.  If you have any questions please email us at rescueridgeal@gmail.com.

FOSTERING BINGO...
Bingo would love to get the opportunity to live with a family that can foster him until his forever family is found.  If you are interested in fostering Bingo please complete a Foster Application at https://www.rescueridgealabama.org/ways-to-help. If you have any questions please email us at rescueridgeal@gmail.com.

More about this rescue

At Rescue Ridge Dog Rescue of Alabama, our mission is to transform the lives of abandoned, neglected, and abused dogs in rural East Alabama and West Georgia. We provide essential veterinary care, safe and nurturing housing, training and daily physical and mental enrichment. Through human and animal socialization, we prepare dogs for adoption into loving, permanent homes. Our goal is to provide a personalized adoption experience to ensure every dog finds their perfect match, preventing them from becoming a failed rescue statistic. We also support our community by funding spay/neuter services, educating on responsible dog ownership while serving as a vital resource to our area which lacks a county and city animal shelter.

Our Founder Michelle Wagner
Michelle has been a huge animal lover since she was a child. She grew up in Dallas Georgia , Paulding County.
Michelle spent many years working in rescue as a kennel manager and is very savvy with bully breeds. She moved to rural Randolph County in East Alabama to be closer to family, While living here Michelle started to realize the huge dog overpopulation and abandonment problem that plagued the county along with the lack of resources such as animal control facilities and low-cost vet and spay neuter services. Michelle decided to start her own all-volunteer small dog rescue to do her part with helping the dogs in this county. There is no city or county animal control here so they are left helpless on the streets. Michelle started this rescue and became a 501(c)3 on May 28, 2024. Michelle does a wonderful job caring for her dogs and spends lots of time socializing and training them.
Michelle is always looking for committed loving homes so if you are interested in adopting please reach out! Rescue Ridge runs on personal donations which are tax deductible. Michelle is excited to work with the community to spread awareness and lessen the number of dogs in need!
