My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Molly, the 8-year-old Shih Tzu who's been through so much!  This sweet girl was neglected and left in poor health but now she's getting the love and care she deserves!

Molly is a shy and quiet girl who loves human companionship. She might not be the most playful, but she gets along great with other dogs if they respect her boundaries. She also does well with cats.  Molly has made a full recovery from her past health issues including the removal of a large mass from her belly! Molly  enjoys a special homemade diet that's tailored just for her. She's been given a clean bill of health from the vet and is ready to live her best life.

More about Molly: She's a low energy lap dog who loves to cuddle up and enjoy quiet moments. If you're looking for a calm and loving companion who will appreciate a gentle and nurturing home, Molly might be the perfect fit. She's best suited for a home with kids aged 9+, where she can receive gentle attention and affection.  Molly is all up to date on her vaccinations and she is spayed. She is also crate trained, walks well on a leash and is housebroken.

Molly is currently enjoying a special diet of homemade food as suggested by her vet. This diet has been tailored to her specific needs and has greatly improved her health and well-being. We are looking for an adopter who is willing and able to continue this special diet as it is crucial to her ongoing health.

On April 15th, Molly was rescued from a neglectful breeding business. She was in rough shape, but she received the medical care she needed, including surgery and medication. She is now thriving and enjoying her second chance at life!

All of Molly's vet care, surgery, medication, and food has been covered by us.

Molly is NOT with NorthStar Pet Rescue but we are helping her foster parents to network her for a suitable retirement home. If you are interested in adopting Molly and being part of her new life, please complete an adoption application at www.northstarpets.org and be sure to ask for XP MOLLY!

More about this rescue

In many areas of the country, especially in the South, the situation for animals is desperate: Chained outside and starving, homeless and running loose, or just simply no longer wanted and abandoned in an overburdened and underfunded facility that can’t possibly take another. For these animals, there is not much hope…except to look in the night sky for the North Star, their only way out. We are a group of passionate volunteers committed to saving these innocent dogs and finding them a new forever home. NorthStar Pet Rescue was founded in 2017, and although we might be a relatively new name among New Jersey animal rescues, you may recognize some of us from the work we’ve done volunteering with other rescues to help animals over the past decade. We are 100% dedicated to operating in an safe, transparent, and ethical manner and to ensuring the best veterinary practices are followed with regards to the care and transport of our animals. NorthStar Pet Rescue is IRS 501(c)(3) charitable organization (EIN: 81-5348036).
