Meet Max, a gentle 8.5-year-old German Shepherd who’s found his second chance at life after being rescued from AVAS on the day he was scheduled to be euthanized. Max is a mellow and easygoing companion who thrives in a home where he can be the only dog.

At home, Max is calm and affectionate, though he does need a couple of pain pills daily to manage his arthritis. Despite this, he remains a loving and loyal friend, forming strong bonds with his people and becoming a devoted shadow, always close by.

Max is not fond of other dogs and can get jealous, so he’s happiest when all the attention is on him. If you’re looking for a devoted and loving companion who will cherish your company and thrive in a single-dog household, Max is eager to become a cherished member of your family.
