My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Georgie! This gentle giant just might be your new best friend.

Georgie is a couch potato. He will probably not want to join you for a sunrise hike, but he would love to snuggle up next to you while you binge watch your favorite show. He has not shown any interest in toys - naps are his preferred way to pass the day.

We do not know a lot about Georgie's past, but unfortunately one thing we do know is that he has not received proper vet care. When he came to us, he had significant infections in his mouth and ears. Now that he has access to the medical attention he needs, he is on the mend and will be good as new very soon!

Georgie is house trained and walks well on leash. He prefers a slow, meandering walk where he has lots of opportunities to sniff and inspect his surroundings. He is also making great progress in crate training. He will sometimes whine for a few minutes when left alone, but settles down quickly.

Georgie has a mellow personality and has done well with meeting children. He is respectful and reserved around other dogs. After a friendly introductory sniff, he will go back to doing his own thing. Due to his calm demeanor, Georgie would fit in well with many types of households and lifestyles.

Additional adoption info

Please visit www.hopeanimals.org/adopt to learn more about our adoption process and to complete an adoption application.

Adoption Fee includes spay/neuter*, microchipping, up-to-date vaccinations, and current heartworm and flea/tick preventatives.

*If pet is not old enough to be spayed or neutered prior to adoption, a $50.00 credit will be paid to your vet at the time of surgery.

We require a veterinary reference for current pet owners, and pets must be up to date on vaccines and heartworm preventative. We meet potential adopters in their homes and introduce the pets to the family's current pets to see if it is a good match. A copy of our adoption contract can be requested via email.
