My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Piper is a sweet 3-year old female Terrier mix who was brought to the HSOV on August 20, 2024 after she was picked up by the Washington County Ohio Dog Warden on Johnson Road (off SR550 in the Marietta Ohio area). Piper was accompanied by another female Terrier mix ((Tilly) who is surely her sibling. Neither of the girls were wearing a collar, and they were not microchipped.

Piper has a black short smooth coat with a small patch of white on her chest, a rather long body, short legs, and a long tail. She has a cute face with hopeful innocent dark brown eyes, a white stripe on her slender muzzle, and large 'folded-over' ears.

Piper and her sister Tilly have very friendly dispositions and are quite playful. These girls are very attached to each other. Based upon their appearance, they are most likely siblings and might possibly have some Dachshund ancestors in their family background.

Piper weighs 15.4 lbs.

We had taken preliminary photos of Piper and Tilly on August 20th, 2024 shortly after the girls were brought to our shelter. They were initially held for safe-keeping but were later ok'd for posting/adoption. Piper's coat was very sparse on August 20th and has been given daily medicated baths for her skin issues.

In compliance with the Ohio Revised Code, Piper and Tilly were held for the mandatory three-day stray hold so that their family would have an opportunity to reclaim them with proof of ownership ... But nobody called or came looking for them.

These updated photos of Piper were taken on September 3, 2024. Piper and Tilly never want to be separated from each other, so two of our amazing HSOV Kennel Techs teamed up to take the girls out together for their new glamour pictures. Kennel Tech Cadince Bibbee spent time with Piper while Kennel Tech Emily Beaver waited nearby with Tilly.

Piper's coat/skin are looking sooo much better in just two weeks thanks to the extra care/baths that she has been receiving.

Piper and Tilly are two of the happiest dogs in our shelter (which speaks volumes) ... They would dearly love to find a home together.
