My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dog Name: Hunter

Breed: mixed

Sex: male

Age: 5ish

Weight: 45lbs

Medical Needs: has a little wound on his ear that is being treated with a daily ointment but will be done with it on 9/6

Housebroken: yes, he spends long hours in the crate and has never had an accident in there nor when out and about

Crate trained: yes, goes in easily, we give him a treat when he goes in.

Good in the car: Yepp he sits right down and looks out the window and seems to enjoy it

Good on a leash: Hunter could use some leash manners. He will pull if he wants to get to something in a hurry but takes correction easily

Energy level: medium. He will chase a ball but otherwise is content to just lounge most of the day

Need a fenced in yard: no. Obviously wouldn’t hurt to have one but he is very happy to pee straight away and come right back inside

Dog Friendly: yes. Not an absolute necessity, but would do best with a more submissive dog. He and my “top dog” struggle a bit for alpha status but there isn’t any aggression just a struggle for who can hump who lol. He also exhibits some resource guarding with toys

If yes, does your foster need another dog in its adoptive homes? No he would be more than happy to get all of your attention

Cat Friendly? Yes, doesn’t seem to pay any mind to them at all

Kid Friendly: yes, he is a sweet gentle boy but does occasionally get the zoomies and will jump up on the couch during these spurts so needs to have proper supervision with little ones.

If yes, what's the youngest child you'd recommend they be placed with? Any with proper supervision

Special traits that make your foster special or that we need to know about them? Hunter had been living in a car for a period of time before coming to GRR. He definitely is apprehensive at times but quickly warms up to strangers (with a treat) and genuinely seems to know he is safe now. He absolutely NEEDS to be pet. He lives for affection and if you take a break from petting him will remind you by nudging you with his snoot. If you’re looking for a couch potato to sit and hang with all day or a roadtrip buddy Hunter is your guy!
